LOW RANGE (≤15PPM) BIOCHEMICAL NITRATE REDUCTION.
LR Nitrate Remover™ is designed for aquariums that have 15ppm or lower nitrate.
It is formulated specifically to reduce nitrate without promoting the nuisance bio-bacteria slime within marine/reef environments and works by providing bio-available carbon sources to denitrifying bacteria present in media, deep sand beds & inner pores of live rock.
The bacteria oxidise the carbon into carbon dioxide while reducing nitrate to chemically inert nitrogen gas. I
f you are experiencing nitrate levels higher than 15ppm, we recommend using our HR Nitrate Remover™ then making the switch to LR Nitrate Remover™ once nitrate becomes 15ppm or lower.

FAQ
I’m using the product and getting white slime?
This white slime can be because of a few things the 2 main reasons are that the product is simply being overdosed. Or there is not enough bacteria in the system i.e. not enough denitrifying media for the nitrate remover to work so it is feeding other bacteria instead.
I’m dosing the product and it doesn’t seem to be working?
1. There could be a few reasons why nitrate remover may not be working. Nitrate remover works by feeding and denitrifying bacteria in turn reducing your nitrate. If you have insufficient media in an Anaerobic environment (Low Oxygen, Low Flow) then the nitrate remover will not have enough bacteria to use. This can be remedied by simply adding more media in the form of spheres or blocks, both work in this situation given the time for bacteria to grow in them. (Quantum Nitrate remover will speed up the growth process for this bacterium.) So, carry on daily dosing.
2. Check the level via a different test kit to the one you are currently using. Some test kits can be inaccurate or become faulty due to moisture in the reagents over time.
3. The bacteria that is used to remove nitrate needs phosphate to consume nitrate. So, if your phosphate level is low you will need to let your phosphate rise a little and then start bringing the phosphate back down to desired levels when the nitrate level starts to fall.
How long does Nitrate Remover take to work?
This can depend on multiple factors, some which are explained below. However, Nitrate remover usually works in 1-2 weeks to reach desired levels but it can take longer.
Can I use Quantum Nitrate remover along with Quantum Phosphate remover?
Yes. Yes you can! These products along with the rest of range have been designed to be able to work hand in hand with each other.
